Arias Classical
and Flamenco Guitars Arias guitars are hand
made by luthiers with 20 to 50 years of building experience. Each guitar is made
from start to finish by only one luthier. Our production is very limited, and
waiting time for a custom order is usually of about one to three months. Most
models can be built with or without cutaway.
Internationally acclaimed classic guitar player Luz Maria Bobadilla now
plays in concerts with an Arias guitar. We will soon add new sound
samples by Luz Maria.
This is what the Classical Guitar Maestro Sila Godoy, the greatest Paraguayan
Classical Guitar composer and interpreter after Agustín Barrios, said about our
guitars: "Your guitars are the best made in Paraguay by far, every new one I
test is better than the previous ones. I have tested guitars from all the best
known local luthiers, and yours have no competition either in sound or
construction. These are world class guitars that can compete side by side with
guitars made by the best European luthiers. I had never dreamed to have guitars
of these quality built in Paraguay".
All our wood is SOLID. We do NOT use laminated wood (plywood). We use the
highest grades of Western Red Cedar, Engelmann Spruce, Sitka Spruce, and Italian
Fiemme Spruce for Tops; and for Back and Sides, the highest grades of East
Indian Rosewood, Pau Ferro (Bolivian Jacaranda), and Brazilian Rosewood. We can also use other species of wood: For Back and Sides:Spanish Cypress, Madagascar Rosewood, Cocobolo
Rosewood, Honduran Rosewood, Koa, Honduran Mahogany, African Mahogany,
Ziricote, Bubinga,Macassar Ebony,English Walnut, Bastogne
Walnut, Claro Walnut, Malaysian Blackwood, African Blackwood, Black Ebony, Bois
D' Rose (Dalbergia maritima), Panama rosewood, African Padauk (Pterocarpus
soyauxii), Silver Oak (Grevillea robusta), Granadillo (Platymiscium sp) For Tops: Adirondack Spruce (Picea Rubens), Carpathian Red Spruce, Redwood
(Sequoia Sempervirons)
Our Rosettes are hand made, from Russia and Argentina.

Hi
Gustavo,
My guitar arrived 7:15 AM Friday morning. I phoned the delivery agent to arrange
for a pickup, we live close to Toronto airport. They told me no delivery until
Monday.As good luck would
have it, when I was in business we did business with the samecompany you used. As I told you in a previous email
my wife looked after sales and
transport. She made a phone call and the package was made available for pickup.
The guitar looked perfect which made me happy.
You know about my bad experience with the last guitar I bought from one of yourcompetitors in Paraguay. When I tuned the guitar
several times above concert pitch
until the stretch was almost gone I was ready to play. All my life I played, for
45years, with heavy
guitars. The guitar I mentioned purchased in January, this was alsoa very heavy and big guitar. Your instrument was
petite and light and so beautiful.
When I was happy with the tuning I started playing heavy Spanish pieces with
lots ofbase. Gustavo, I
never thought this sweet guitar could produce such a pleasing songwith the incredible volume I heard. Doing business
all my life I used an old tired
saying and it is simple, "it is all a matter of what you know" and you clearly
know.Over the years I
have been playing, this guitar is amongst the best. You will bereceiving an order for another and my last purchase
made to my specs, with your
advice all the way through.
You have opened my ears,
All the best to you and yours,
John Clifford.

Classical 1A Maestro - Brazilian Rw/Western Red Cedar (1AM-BRM)
-------------- Hello Gustavo,
The guitar arrived
with only a small customs check in Osaka. The shipping crateworked fantastic,
more companies should do the same! I have been around guitars all my life, my
dad worked for Gibson USA. And more recently, I went with my guitar instructor
( he has released 3 CD's in Japan and has played for 38 years) to Ochanomizu
(the guitar capital of Japan) where we were allowed to test more than 30
Luthier made guitars. The minimum price for any one guitar at the exhibition
was 10,000 US$. I can say with complete confidence, that your guitar is better
than 98% of the guitars offered for more than 10,000US$. There was even one
for 30,000$ ... but it didn't have such beautiful tone, sustain, or dynamics
as yours. Excellent craftmanship!! Thanks for your help with everything!!
Cheers,

Materials, Components, and Measurements
Wood: All
Arias classical and flamenco guitars are hand-crafted from top quality solid
woods. Paraguayan Red Cedar (Spanish Cedar), Canadian Engelmann Spruce (Picea
Engelmann), Western
Red Cedar (Thuja Plicata), Italian Fiemme Spruce (Picea Abies), Argentine Walnut, Paraguayan Algarrobo, Paraguayan Trebol,
Pau Ferro, East Indian Rosewood, Brazilian Rosewood (Dalbergia Nigra), Argentine
Cypress, Monterey (California) Cypress, Incienso (Paraguayan wood),
Brown Ebony, Caavera, and Ebony. We may use other species of wood for Back and
Sides, and for the Top if requested by the buyer. Finish:
Polyurethane lacquer, Nitrocellulose lacquer, or
French polish (Shellac).
Note: Factory/Production guitars are usually finished in painting booths with polyurethane lacquer.
Polyurethane lacquer gives the best looks, but most luthiers agree to say that
it is not the best finish in terms of sound quality. A better
finish in terms of sound quality is Nitrocellulose lacquer, and the best of all
is most probably Shellac. Most luthiers still consider Shellac (French polish) to be
the best finish for guitars when considering sound. Strings:
Hannabach or D'Addario.
Tuning Machines:
Schaller Hauser Standard Bronce plated, and Schaller Lyre Standard Bronce plated.
Fustero Standard Gold Tuners with Pearloid Buttons. Schaller Hauser Luxury Gold plated
